Emory Global Engagement is excited to launch the International Travel Readiness and Information Portal (ITRIP). Starting September 1, 2026, Emory University faculty, staff, and students must share their upcoming international travel plans before booking to receive customized guidance, applicable university requirements, and recommendations based on their specific destination and itinerary.
Planning international travel for research, teaching, a conference, or other Emory University related travel? ITRIP will serve as a central portal for information and requirements University travelers need throughout the international travel planning process.
Entering your travel plans in ITRIP only takes a few minutes, and for many destinations, depending on the risks associated with the travel plan, travelers will receive a ‘Emory travel-ready' status within two business days.
By entering your upcoming travel in ITRIP, travelers will receive:
Personalized guidance on University policies, requirements, and travel considerations specific to your destination and itinerary.
Access to Emory's Global Assistance Program, including travel assistance services, international travel insurance benefits, real-time destination information, and safety alerts.
Timely support during emergencies, with the University able to quickly provide assistance and coordinate resources in the event of a medical, security, natural disaster, or other crisis abroad.
Peace of mind knowing that your travel plans meet university requirements and that support is available wherever your travels take you.

ITRIP will become Emory University's new international travel portal beginning September 1st, 2026, replacing registration with International SOS. In addition to enrolling travelers in Emory's Global Assistance Program, ITRIP will provide customized guidance and coordinate any additional travel requirements. This is an Emory-wide resource available to all faculty, staff, and students, regardless of the school or unit sponsoring their Emory-related international travel.
Some travel destinations or activities may require advance review or approval before travel. We recommend submitting your travel plans as early as possible, even if you only have approximate dates and locations, and before booking international airfare or accommodations. Early submission helps ensure any requirements are addressed in advance and reduces the risk of having to change or cancel travel plans.
Weare committed to supporting Emory faculty, staff, and students wherever they need to travel. With proper planning and preparation, most risks can be properly mitigated or managed. By sharing your travel plans in ITRIP, we can support you in a proactive and timemanner to help you have a safe trip.
Most nominal risktravel planswill be reviewed in fewer than 2 business days. Travel involving elevated risk or additional compliance requirements may require up to 6 weeks of planning.Emory University recommends you share your approximate travel plans with as much time in advance as possible, even if they may change. We are here to help you through the process.
Yes, you should. While we recommend recording your travel before booking, we can still provide resources for your upcoming travel. Please share your travel plans through ITRIP so we can assist you.
Yes. You should enter your travel with ITRIP if you are carrying out travel on Emory University related purposes regardless of the funding source.
No, you only need to register international travel in ITRIP, butall travel should be booked through an Emory travel agency.
No, ITRIP is not required for your personal travel.However, if you are an international student or scholar under Emory University’s immigration sponsorship, follow the ISSS guidance on international travel.
ITRIP is intended for travel plans that are part of University-related travel. Emory Healthcare staff should not register travel plans in ITRIP unless they are traveling on a University-related trip. Emory Healthcare employees may have their own process for international travel recording.
