Charlie Hammons

Charlie Hammons is the Assistant Director of Client Services in ISSS and was the Manager, Immigration Systems and Reporting for the department since 2018. In this role, Charlie serves as the application manager for Sunapsis/ISSS Link, and oversees data management and government reporting for ISSS. In this capacity, Charlie ensures ISSS is innovative in using technology to best serve all international students, scholars, and their hosting/hiring departments. Charlie also sees international students and scholars during walk-in advising.

Charlie has been an international student himself he completed his undergraduate work at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He has worked in International Education for over 10 years. Charlie began as an ESL instructor in the Atlanta area before transitioning to the International Student Advisor role. He moved to higher education in 2011 when he became an International Student and Scholar Advisor at Georgia Tech, where he remained until early 2018. Charlie was Chair of the Georgia Association of International Educators in 2013-14 and has been a Trainer in NAFSA’s Trainer Corps since 2014.

In 2017, Charlie earned a M.S. in International Affairs from Georgia Tech.
