Stephanie Mathis
Stephanie Mathis is an International Student and Scholar Advisor, nsaeng (Shinn) for International Student and Scholar Sevices (ISSS) in the Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives. In this role, she works with international students, scholars, and administrators regarding federal immigration and employment regulations, Emory resources, and related matters.
Originally, from Pinewood, South Carolina, Stephanie began her international education journey through FSU’s rigorous Urban Regional Planning Panama program where she discovered her passion for education and adventure during a stay in the Comarca region with the Kuna Yala Indians. In addition, she spent a tenure with the National Society of Black Engineers in Alexandria, Virginia, in which she managed NSBE’s international student membership and programs. Prior to Emory, Stephanie worked as an international student and scholar advisor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and at Christian Brothers University as the Coordinator of International Student Services in Memphis, Tennessee.
Stephanie earned her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in African Studies from the College of Charleston and completed her M.S. degree in International Affairs from Florida State University.
