Shaun M. Jamieson
Shaun M. Jamieson is Director of Global Safety and Security for Emory Global Engagement. Jamieson has nearly two decades of experience working in higher education in international education and student affairs. He is responsible for promoting standards of best practice for international travel health, safety, and security and ensuring that Emory can support the health, safety, and wellbeing of community members on university-sponsored travel abroad. Jamieson was previously the inaugural international risk manager at Iowa State University where he built the travel risk management program and helped the university respond to the global coronavirus pandemic. He has directly managed programs on-site in Turkey, India, and China and served as the chief student affairs officer for Duke University TIP.
Jamieson presents regularly on topics including global safety, crisis management, international insurance, and recently co-authored a chapter on international travel policy development for Convergence of Litigation, Policy, and Standards (2024). He was awarded a Fulbright International Education Administrators fellowship in 2022 and currently serves as the chair of the OSAC Academia Sector Committee and vice president of Pulse International.
