Global Diversity Awareness Month 2020

October is Global Diversity Awareness Month, and our team in the Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives (GSI) invites you to celebrate the many types of diversity that enrich the Emory community.

Emory University’s global work exemplifies our collective ability to walk in another's shoes and consider an issue, an obstacle, or a solution from a different angle. The events of the past year have affected nearly every aspect of our lives, our studies, and our work. The pandemic has displaced our regular work rhythms and has disrupted global research. At the same time, our gaze has shifted inward as we reckon with the historic and systemic inequities and injustices in our own country.

These challenging conditions make global work more important than ever before. The Emory community best achieves its lofty mission in the service of humanity when it incorporates and elevates the experiences, cultures, and perspectives of people from all around the world. In alignment with GSI’s Statement of Values, we will launch a month-long social media campaign using the hashtag, #GlobalDiversity2020, to share events and resources that reflect our commitment to international education and engagement and to promoting and supporting diversity, equity, access, and inclusion in our community. Follow @EmoryGlobal on Twitter and International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) on Facebook and Instagram to learn about the exciting opportunities that embrace global diversity at Emory.
