VIDEO: The 2017 Sheth Lecture in Indian Studies

On September 24th, the Halle Institute convened the 17th annual Sheth Lecture in Indian Studies. This year's speaker was trendsetting journalist T.N. Ninan, chairman and former editor of Business Standard, a leading business newspaper in India. Ninan's lecture, "The Challenges of Being a Latecomer...When the rules have changed," explored the implications of India's rapid economic growth following that of its East Asian neighbors.

Mr. Ninan joined a storied list of past lecturers, including novelist Salman Rushdie and K. Srinath Reddy, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) President. The Sheth Lecture in Indian Studies is made possible by the generous support of the Sheth Family Foundation, which is dedicated to raising awareness of the culture and history of India and South Asia and to serving the Indian community in Atlanta and the Southeast.
