EGE Organizational Structure Change

January 26, 2026

Emory Global Engagement (EGE) announced a new, comprehensive organizational structure designed to enhance cross-functional collaboration of the university’s global activities and services. The structural changes reflect EGE’s commitment to establishing a more coordinated and effective approach to advance the institution’s strategic efforts in global engagement.

The reorganization establishes several key leadership positions and functional alignments:

Shinn Ko has been appointed the new Associate Vice Provost for International Services & Global Engagement. In this role, she will oversee International Student and Scholar Services, Global Partnerships & Initiatives, Global Relations, and Communications.

Christy Grant will serve as Director of Advising & Operations - ISSS, assuming the day-to-day management of International Student and Scholar Services.

Natalie Cruz has been named Director of Global Partnerships & Initiatives, which will focus on relationships with international higher education institutions.

Sarah Harlan Zegeye will serve as the Director of Global Operations & Services, continuing to support Emory’s complex global activities as well as internal business processes and office management.

Obse Ababiya will assume the role of Senior Associate Director for Global External Relations, leading relationship building with the local diplomatic corps and international business community. The operating area formerly called Atlanta Global Partnerships will retire in name.

Emory Global Engagement’s new organizational structure strengthens the university’s global leadership by refining international processes and deepening efforts to cultivate impactful partnerships and opportunities worldwide. EGE remains committed to positioning Emory University as a globally recognized, internationally engaged institution that attracts outstanding students and scholars from across the world.
