Research ethics and intellectual property in Ethiopia

Ethiopia maintains its own system for reviewing and approving research involving human subjects. Local legal counsel in Ethiopia, arranged through the Office of General Counsel (OGC), can also assist in obtaining the appropriate legal and ethical approvals for conducting research in Ethiopia.

Intellectual property

The Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office (EIPO) in the Ministry of Science and Technology is charged with protecting intellectual property in Ethiopia. Please contact Emory's Office of General Counsel regarding intellectual property protections; OGC will then coordinate with local Ethiopian counsel and the EIPO.
